Dmitry Gorbunov took part in the session Criminal Risks: What to Pay Attention to before the Police Arrives to report on Contact with Law Enforcement. Mr Gorbunov has vast experience of working with law enforcement agencies and has successfully represented victims at all stages of the process, from internal investigations to prosecution. “In business, legal practice implies the priority of the civil component. Large companies often believe that, by putting in place internal policies and complying with them, they exclude other risks. Still, as we see from current cases handled by Russian law enforcement, businesses’ efforts are brought to naught. It is impossible to exclude such risks altogether, which does not mean that the companies cannot mitigate them. In my intervention, I will try to give practical recommendations for efficient allocation of staff’s resources in the event of a forced contact with law enforcement,” says Gorbunov.
