Rustam Kurmaev & Partners, a leader in dispute resolution in Russia, became the general partner of 13th Annual Best Legal Departments award by Corporate Counsel magazine. Rustam Kurmaev, the firm’s managing partner, and Dmitry Kletochkin, partner, were part of the award’s Expert Board which reviewed participants’ questionnaires and selected outstanding legal departments in thirteen categories. The official award ceremony was held on November 16, 2018 in Icon Hall, a Moscow event space.
The reception, which has traditionally been a key event for Russian legal community, was held for the thirteenth time, bringing together the heads of legal departments of major Russian and international companies, partners of legal law firms, representatives of the government and business media. This year, the ceremony was sponsored by the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service, and the organizers added an award category recognizing excellence in promoting antimonopoly compliance.
Rustam Kurmaev & Partners took on a role of the award’s general partner. Rustam Kurmaev, the managing partner, welcomed the ceremony’s guests to Icon Hall and handed over the prize to the winner in the Energy Sector category. “We have worked together with the Corporate Counsel editorial staff and are pleased to support one of the magazine’s most outstanding projects. We are happy to see the contest evolve; the award ceremony has long become the most anticipated event of the year for legal professionals. This year, our participants are again industry leaders, and many worthy contestants competed in each category,” said Mr Kumaev.
