Dmitry Kletochkin, partner at Rustam Kurmaev & Partners, took part in Bankruptcy from a Creditor’s Perspective. The Case is Won: How to Achieve Recovery?, a conference held by the Russian Corporate Counsel Association (RCCA) on September 20, 2018 in the Congress Center of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

RCCA’s conference was attended by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Russian Federal Tax Service, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Deposit Insurance Agency, partners of legal law firms specializing in restructuring and insolvency, and heads of collection and bad debt departments of major banking and financial companies. Among other things, experts discussed bankruptcy prevention measures, debtor’s liability, lawful means of putting pressure on debtors, experience working with the government in pre-bankruptcy and bankruptcy proceedings, and management of bankruptcy as a business process.

Dmitry Kletochkin took part in the conference’s first session focused on bankruptcy prevention measures. Legal experts discussed cross-functional interactions within a company during bankruptcy prevention measures and during bankruptcy, security measures in bankruptcy proceedings, and other pressing issues. Dmitry spoke on the topic “Asset Stripping and New Creditors: A Thin Line between Business and Criminal Abuse”. He discussed matters which require special attention from creditors at the early stages of bankruptcy proceedings.

In his work, Dmitry Kletochkin specializes in corporate disputes, disputes involving real estate, protection from hostile takeovers, and bankruptcy cases. He has vast experience of representing Russian clients in arbitrazh courts and courts of law. Over his career, Dmitry provided assistance on disputes arising under supply contracts, loan and contract agreements, disputes associated with rights to real estate, and other disputes arising under civil and commercial law. He was included among the list of leading corporate compliance and investigation specialists according to the Global Investigation Review 100 guide for 2015.

The Russian Corporate Counsel Association is a non-profit partnership founded in 2003.
