On December 5, 2018, Pravo.ru, a Russian legal online portal, marked its 10th anniversary by hosting an official ceremony at the Ritz Cartlon Hotel in Moscow attended by leaders of Russia’s legal sector. At the gala, the organizers announced the Pravo.ru-300 award winners for 2018.
Pravo.ru first conducted its large-scale survey of the Russian legal market in 2010. The award organizers aimed to improve market transparency and provide a benchmark which could be used by courts and clients to evaluate the level of competence and professionalism of legal advisors. Since its inception, Pravo.ru-300 has rightfully claimed its niche as the most prestigious legal rating in Russia, and its annual award ceremony has become one of the most anticipated events of the business season for the legal community. The 2018 survey is the ninth; the rating was audited, as is already tradition, by Deloitte.
Rustam Kurmaev & Partners debuted in the survey in 2018, winning recognition in all of its key practice areas:
- Group 2 in Criminal Law and Process
- Group 3 in Arbitration Proceedings
- Group 3 in Bankruptcy
According to the rating’s authors, Pravo.ru-300 is a working tool which has been used over the years by corporations and their in-house counsels to search for and select among legal advisors. A firm’s position in the rating is evaluated based on its experience and feedback from clients regarding quality, service level, and cost/benefit ratio. To improve rating mechanisms, an independent Expert Board was formed which consists of legal directors from major Russian and international corporations.
