Telman Oganesyan specializes in criminal defense of businesses and representation of the interests of Russian and international companies during inspections by government authorities. Telman has successful experience in advising on customs, currency and tax legislation in connection with bringing companies and their employees to administrative and criminal liability. He also takes part in scientific and practical conferences on improving criminal legislation, including on the basis of the scientific and educational center “Criminal Legal Expertise” of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Protecting the interests of a large foreign oilfield services technology company within the framework of a full-scale inspection initiated by the Federal Customs Service of Russia with the subsequent bringing of the company’s top managers to criminal liability. As a result of the successful defense of the Client’s interests, it was possible to achieve the termination of the criminal case, proving that the Client’s employees had no intention to evade customs duties. In subsequent disputes in arbitration courts, it was possible to reduce the fine imposed on the Client by six times to the minimum and achieve the cancellation of the decision to bring the customs representative to administrative liability.

Defense of the manager of a leading enterprise for the manufacture and maintenance of lifting equipment in a criminal case on charges of providing services that did not meet quality standards, which resulted in serious harm to the health of the consumer. Particular difficulty lay in the technical component of the matter, determining the functionality of the equipment, as well as cross-regulatory regulation (guidance from Rostekhnadzor, decision of the Eurasian Customs Commission, multiple technical regulations in force in the Russian Federation). Based on the results of the judicial investigation, the Podolsk City Court assessed the totality of evidence presented by the parties and issued an acquittal against the client.

Protecting the interests of the management of an international pharmaceutical company during verification activities as part of a pre-investigation audit of the Economic Safety and Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Moscow in accordance with received claims regarding the quality of medical products sold by the client in the Russian Federation. As a result of the implementation of a well-developed legal position, it was proven that all products produced and sold by the client meet the highest quality standards and are absolutely safe for the consumer, and the client’s activities do not contain any violations of the law.

Successful representation of the interests of a large Russian energy company as a victim in a criminal case initiated on the basis of theft of shares on an especially large scale. As a result of a well-developed legal position, it was possible to achieve a guilty verdict against all the accused, as well as satisfaction of the civil claim filed in the criminal case in full.
